Saidi's struggles
as a widow

Saidi Bai Kanjra Pawra, a 46-year-old widow from Fattepur in Dhule district, struggled to support her family after losing her husband. Through the DBJUP intervention, she received training, livestock, and regular veterinary support to start a goatery business, becoming financially independent and an inspiration to her community.

The intervention improved Saidi's financial security and strengthened her livelihood. With skills gained through Krishi Vigyan Kendra training, she and her son earned about INR 68,000 from selling four batches of chickens, enabling them to rebuild their house and invest in more livestock to expand their venture.

From dependence to dignity

From dependence to dignity

Saidi shared that after losing her husband, she never imagined she could support her family or build a successful livestock venture. Today, empowered by DBJUP, she proudly calls her goats and hens her treasure and cares for them daily as the foundation of her new life of dignity and independence.

Her grandchildren play with their peers from the village behind her, and in their laughter she sees hope taking shape. Each carefree leap carries with it the promise of brighter days, of opportunities yet to come. In their joy, she senses a future unburdened, where dreams can grow freely and the world feels lighter. Every game they play quietly builds the foundation of a better tomorrow.
