Power of Cattle Rearing
Meet Hanumant Kisan Ghare, the dynamic dairypreneur of Pimpoli village in the Mulshi block of Pune district, Maharashtra. At 45, he's not just milking cows; he's milking opportunities.
Picture this: Hanumant, armed with just one cow and a sprinkle of determination, sets the stage for a dairy revolution in his life. Thanks to Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation (LHWRF) and their support Atlas Copco, who helped him get a Jersey cow, while Hanumant, not one to play second fiddle, invests in another. With a cool 70k loan from Maharashtra Rozgaar Hum Yojana, he builds a cow paradise – a shelter that's the envy of barns everywhere, ensuring his bovine buddies are both happy and productive.
Hanumant takes good care of a mix of Jersey cows and a Murra Buffalo. With Lupin's help, he bought an expensive Jersey cow, and he also decided to add to his stock on his own. Because he understood how money worked, he paid 24k, which included insurance, for the cattle Lupin gave him. This was part of a deal that said beneficiaries would pay more than a certain amount (40k).
Hanumant's dedication and hard work yield a monthly profit of 9k from selling milk. His daily milk production of 22 liters contributes to the Milk Centre, managed by Nilesh Balasaheb Shinde. This cooperative collects 1800 to 2000 liters of milk daily, showcasing the impact of community collaboration. Hanumant earns an additional 4-5k per month from the Milk Centre, funds that are instrumental in supporting his children's education.
Beyond dairy farming, Hanumant is a skilled farmer, cultivating rice, tomatoes, kakdi, and maze on his 0.75-acre land. His diversified agricultural approach not only adds to the family's income but also fosters resilience in the face of economic uncertainties. Annually, he saves around 80k from his agricultural activities, contributing to his family's overall financial stability.
Hanumant, along with his wife Nilesha Ji and their two children, has managed to create a harmonious family environment. Both children are actively pursuing education, with one in the 8th grade and the other in the 11th grade. The additional income generated from dairy farming and agriculture is instrumental in fulfilling their educational aspirations.
Looking ahead, Hanumant envisions further expansion of his dairy enterprise. Buoyed by the success of his initial venture, he plans to invest in more cattle, thereby increasing both his milk production and income. The additional funds generated will be earmarked for improving the family's quality of life and ensuring a brighter future for his children.
Hanumant Kisan Ghare's story is a compelling narrative of resilience, determination, and the positive impact of strategic interventions by Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation, supported by Atlas Copco. Through sustainable dairy farming and agricultural practices, Hanumant has not only transformed his family's economic status but has also become a beacon of inspiration for the entire community in Pimpoli village.
